Winemaker's Note:
Often used as a blending partner in Bordeaux blends, Cab Franc has developed its own personality in the Guadalupe Valley. At first glance, a beautiful bright garnet red color is very attractive. The nose is elegant and floral, with a soft and delicious caramel note from the barrel. Well integrated and full of ripe berry fruit, the palate is accompanied by a hint of cedar, the finish is bright and lingering.
Malbec Cabernet 2016
Sourced exclusively for Ojo Azul Resort from Guadalupe Valley vineyards, our Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon blend to create a smooth, delicious, fruit-driven wine.
60% Malbec + 40% Cabernet Sauvignon
Aging: 18 Months in French oak.
Winemaker's Note:
We set out to create a unique and delicious blend using classic Bordeaux varieties. Our Cab Sauvignon adds structure and depth, while the Malbec is full of fruit and excitement. Medium purple in color, the nose of red fruits and a touch of maple give way to a beautiful vanilla flower. Well composed, with notes of tart raspberry crumble, complemented by a touch of toasted almonds, refreshing on the palate with a smooth and delicious finish.
